Through The Eyes of a Child...

Hello, Happy Tuesday!

Today the rain is falling steady and its a good excuse to stay in, catch up and do some blogging. 

As I was unloading my cameras... yes thats multiple, ha ha, I found some fun pictures taken by my 6 year old. A few months ago, she asked for a camera to use, and now that I look at the pictures, its amazing how well she did and what she thought was so wonderful to take pictures of. 

Its wonderful, the magic she sees, and I love to see through her eyes.

Spring Time

Hello! Happy Monday!

I know it's been a week since I posted last. I don't know where the time goes. 

This weekend was full of tree and flower planting. As well as a fair amount of critter catching. And a little bit of irrigation ditch re-routing. 

We planted an Apple tree, a pear tree, peonies, lavender, Honeysuckle, and hops.

I still want to add hydrangea bushes and then we will be onto veggies.

We are starting with a small container garden of tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, cantaloupe and onions. Yum!

I am looking forward to harvesting!

While planting and watering I also noticed we were being overrun with aphids... sooooo I ordered ladybugs and praying Mantis eggs.

Then while doing irrigation ditch maintenance.... the girls caught snakes!

Ugh!

Whew!!!

I am glad the week is here.

Weekends are far too busy.

Springtime

Hello!

I know it's been awhile, things have been hectic around here. Once the weather gets nice, the work really begins. 

We have been cleaning, burning, raking, and trimming everything around our property. And the irrigation water hasn't even turned on yet. 

Throw in school, school events and a few spring colds and things just stay busy. 

But I will just stay content with watching everything come alive around me, 

Magic !

Chocolate Bunnies...

Happy March 18th!

St. Patricks day is over, and while I want to throw myself into total Easter awesomeness, I have a preteen birthday next week. We are going to just go low key this year, but I will decorate for her like usual. I cant believe she will be 11. Time has flown by so fast. 

On another note, last weekend I took some time to do a craft I saw online. 

I painted vintage bunny figurines to look like Chocolate. Much healthier, less calories...

I bought inexpensive figurines like these off of Ebay, (afterwards, I saw cheap ones at Walmart... oh well), and then for about 4 dollars, I bought this Krylon Chocolate brown spray paint. It took a few coats....

But I think they turned out great.  Now for some jelly beans or hard boiled eggs.

Spring Plans....

Hello, happy happy Sunday!

I have been pinning wonderful inspiration from Pinterest on Chicken Coops. 

I have wanted a chicken coop for some time and since moving out to the country, it seems that this spring will be the time to make it happen. 

My mom had a great idea to have a chicken coop and put our rabbits out there as well, all enclosed in a large fenced covered cage. It will solve a few issues while bringing chickens into our little funny farm. 

My youngest daughter is very excited about the chickens, my oldest is the bunny girl, so between the two of them, they should be able to handle them. They are getting older and its time for them to have more responsibility. My husband is sure I will be the one doing it, but we will see.  For now we are in the hoping and dreaming stage, and at the moment we all want a pink chicken coop with a pretty banner and a handpainted sign hanging off of the cage. I can see it all now....

Glorious Summertime...

Yay... Friday!

I am so glad the weekend is here. I have to admit, I dont look forward to all the work on the weekends... (getting ready for yard sale no.2 ) but Summer fun just makes it all worth it.  The girls are loving the pool. Still a little cold for my liking, but great all the same. 

We are still having rain every afternoon, but still they get in and get a little swimming in before the clouds roll in. We are determined to have as close to a normal summer as possible.

This weekend is a busy one, packing, getting ready for yard sale, helping with the float for the library and then riding in the parade on Saturday, my girls are busy busy.

Oh well,

Hydrangeas...

Hello, happy Monday!

We are digging out today, and hoping for a quick melt off for the snow we got yesterday. I am happily dreaming of flowers though.
One of the things I look forward to is the longer growing season where we are moving.

And we are on our way to over a foot of snow. Yep... thats how we roll in the Rocky Mountains. 

I just look forward to the moisture this will let us have.

Today is our first Friday without dance. Both girls are feeling sickly, and a little worn out from the week. It was a busy one, activity and emotion wise. Now I am happy to say, we are chillin out and going to enjoy some relaxation time.
