Solitary Pink Peony

Happy Saturday!
My single pink peony finally bloomed. Weeks after all the others in town. She waited until they all started wilting and falling apart and finally showed us how pretty she is.
Totally worth the wait.
Have a great day!

Fresh Veggies

I am so sad we didnt get to plant the garden we wanted this year, definately a plan for next summer, but the next best thing, neighbors who take great care of us.

Love the fresh veggies they are bringing us.

And my girls are great helpers chopping and freezing.

Have a great day!

Spring Plans....

Hello, happy happy Sunday!
I have been pinning wonderful inspiration from Pinterest on Chicken Coops.

I have wanted a chicken coop for some time and since moving out to the country, it seems that this spring will be the time to make it happen.

My mom had a great idea to have a chicken coop and put our rabbits out there as well, all enclosed in a large fenced covered cage. It will solve a few issues while bringing chickens into our little funny farm.

My youngest daughter is very excited about the chickens, my oldest is the bunny girl, so between the two of them, they should be able to handle them. They are getting older and its time for them to have more responsibility. My husband is sure I will be the one doing it, but we will see.  For now we are in the hoping and dreaming stage, and at the moment we all want a pink chicken coop with a pretty banner and a handpainted sign hanging off of the cage. I can see it all now....

Have a wonderful Day!

Fairy Houses...

Hello, happy happy Thursday!

The girls and I watched a wonderful movie a few weeks ago, Saving Mr. Banks. Its about the writer of Mary Poppins and how it became a Disney movie. It was wonderful.

In it the writer as a small girl makes houses out of leaves and sticks. The girls were instantly inspired.

Its so great watching them running around the yard collecting materials. I tried to take pictures of all of their creations.

Such a great time. And no electronic games involved.

Just kids being kids.

Hope your day is magical!

Lots of Zuchinni.....

Hello!

Happy Wednesday.

I am loving living in a farming community. Not only do I get to enjoy the farmers market on Saturday, which was lots of fun, but our very generous neighbor keeps gifting us fresh veggies.

I think he has given us over 20 Zuchinni, as well as bowls of tomatos, yellow squash, huge white onions and Corn on the cob.

I am just beside myself with excitement and I have been cooking, cutting, chopping and freezing all weekend.

I made a wonderful batch of salsa in the crocpot, and a veggie quiche.

I cant wait to see whats next.

Hope your day is great!

Zucchini and Tomato's... YUM!

Hello, happy Tuesday! Today we are off to swim with friends and I wanted to show off my small garden. I decided to plant some veggies this year. I purchased the plants at our local Highschool Green house and they are doing Great! I am so excited to get these Zucchini plants picked so I can make bread. The tomato's may or may not turn red in time, but it is so fun growing them and checking on them daily with my girls. They love it.

Hope your day is warm and wonderful.

Ladybugs...

Hello, happy Thursday!

I love summertime, and one of the things that are great about summertime is Ladybugs. We love them. I am all for good bugs anyday. Not like mosquitos and stink bugs, which we seem to have alot of right now. These pictures were from about a month ago when we purchased and released lots of lady bugs throughout our yard. We even saw them for a few days before they left, or the birds ate them all.

FUN!!!

Hope your day is wonderful!

Pinecone Bird Feeders...

Hello. Happy Thursday!!! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. The girls and I are cleaning up. (well, I am. : )

I am trying to slowly put away Christmas decorations and the girls and I are making pinecone bird feeders. Now that we've gotten all this snow, our little feathered friends are looking a little sad. So we will be stringing many of these feeders in our trees.

So easy and such instant gratification. Love it.

Have a great day!

Last Years Crabapple

I took this picture last year at the start of our Crabapple tree season. I am anxious for our tree to start leafing out this year. We are still about a month away, but when it does it will be beautiful. I am currently planning my plantings for this year. I think we will be adding a few Honeysuckle bushes and two Rose Bushes. I will definatly be surrounded by Bees, but thats ok. I really love the smell of all the blooms.
