January Cleaning

I Love love love the glitter and decor of Christmas. But something I love even more is putting it all away. Some of my favorite products for January cleaning and de-cluttering are lavender, lemon, vinager and anything Mrs. Meyers.  And you can never go wrong with good old fashioned bleach products.

Have a wonderful day!

Toy Organization....Ikea Style!

This is the wonderful new product that I picked up at Ikea. I LOVE it. It really is exactly what we needed. My daughter loves all the little bits and pieces and this is perfect for all her stuff. It even has a nice area on top for play.

This is a picture before I started...
I can hardly stand to look at it.

And this is after. I purchased the green bins for .99 cents each at Ikea as well.
The best part, my daughter loves the whole thing. She is even making sure to put her toys away after she plays with them.
Its amazing.

Now that this is such an success, I am thinking the pantry is up next. So many organizing opportunities.

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

Craft Room Organizing...

I don't know how many times I have done this. I am constantly going through drawers and organizing, only to go back a few months later and doing it again. Why is it drawers end up being catch alls for everything. I know that anything that does not have a place always ends up in there. We not anymore. This week is going to start a trend. I am going through them once more and throwing stuff away. No more re-allocating an item. Just trash. I feel so good when I throw bits and pieces away. At first there is the dread and worry of "what if I need this later" but once I toss it there is a huge weight lifted and I feel so much lighter. I have found this to be true with most items. SO this week is throw away week. I am going to start at one end of the house and work my way through. Drawers, under sinks, medicine cabinets... nothings safe. I will try to post some of my before and afters. (If I am brave enough).

Hope you have a great start to your week!
Happy Monday

~ Clean and Sweet Weekend ~

Last week was a fun one for getting mail. I received many fun things. First of all, I got an order of Mrs Meyers lavender detergent and countertop spray. Mmmmm.... Smells so good. Cant wait to wash sheets today. I also got a catalog and some sweet samples of yummy products by one of my favorite companies... The Good Home Co.  I love them both and highly recommend you check them out. Now I am off to clean house, do laundry and hopefully get ready for a baby shower. Have a wonderful Weekend!

Clean and Simple

I love how these pins look in this jar... so simple...

Everyday necessities... papertowels, and soft cloths for cleaning.

I wanted to post these extra pics of the Laundry room that I took a while back. I moved my Lavender Jar to the laundry room along with a jar of clothespins. I hated the look of my fabric softner box, so I put them on a simple ironstone dish. Love it.

Natural Cleaning... Lemons and Lavender

My bundle of Lavender that I cant bear to take apart... Lemons, Vinager and Baking soda....

 So Fresh and Springy...

And for after all the cleaning... a little pampering with a wonderful sugar scrub from a friend for Valentines day. Thank you... you are soooo sweet!!!!

I have been inspired recently by A Guide to Green Housekeeping by Christina Strutt. It is a great book and it opened my eyes to how many natural ways there are to clean without the headache inducing chemicals. Plus I am not worried about toxic chemicals being on my Kitchen countertops when cutting up fruit and veggies. I highly recommend you check it out! Have a great weekend.

~ A Lovely Laundry Space ~

I have this ugly plain wood shelf above my washer and dryer and I decided with my pretty new appliances I needed a pretty place to put my cleaning products. So I put a lacy curtain on the shelf and my great old washboard that I have had forever. It is truly the cleanest brightest part of my home. Have a great day!

Laundry Day

Today I am finishing up and putting away laundry and I thought I would share how I "pretty up" my laundry supplies. I love putting laundry soap in glass containers. This is detergent I found on sale in an ugly bottle, but here it looks lovely. I also like to put powder detergent in glass canisters and use pretty cups to scoop. Since I shop sales for detergent, this is the best way to display such an boring everyday item. Have a great day!
