I am working a half day, the kids have started Spring break already and we are ready.

Lots of plans around the house. Our dog is going into surgery later in the week, we are working on clearing out clutter. Starting on our piles for late spring yard sales. Spring cleaning, overdue projects, and just some rest are in order. Not to mention some shopping for Spring clothes and 8th grade continuation dresses. Its not even here yet and I am already tired.

Front Porch Plans...

Good Morning!

Today is going to be a beautiful day!

The stormy weather has passed and the birds are singing, it has me thinking about Springtime plans. We are currently planning on a porch remodel. It has not been decided exactly what we will be doing, however, these pictures are what I want. My husband keeps throwing around the idea of screening the porch in, but I want windows, and white paint, and curtains, and coat racks and shoe cubbies... the list goes on and on. I want a living space, not just a screened in, only useable for part of the year, space. 

I will get my way, I usually do.

Fun Paper Goodies....

Just wanted to post more organizing goodies. This time its my paper goods. Fun toothpicks, napkins, cupcake holders and other goodies. 

I love that I can spruce up the simplest of lunches with some fun whimsical goodies. 

And this cabinet is another one that just makes me smile.

 We are headed out to our good friend's house to visit, celebrate, and welcome spring. Just might take in a garage sale or two.

Mothers Day Flowers...

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a great Mothers day Weekend. Ours was busy but good. We had dance recitals the whole weekend. But It was fun. The girls had a blast and danced great. We also squeezed in eating out for breakfast and dinner in there as well as a hike. Whew! Now I feel that I can breath a little. What a great weekend. 

I was also treated to lots of flowers this weekend. 

Most of these flowers were from my girls dance teacher, some were from the girls to me on mothers day, and the rose was my corsage during the recital 

( I was lucky to be able to help behind the scenes)

Now to kick off a great Summer season, only 3 more short weeks of school and they are jam packed with fun and activity.

Springtime in the Mountains

 This is what I woke up to on this glorious Spring morning. My kids were less than thrilled and trying to explain to them that this is Spring snow and that its good for the flowers and grass, was a useless endeavor. 

So I will make the most of it and plan french dip sandwiches for dinner and 

pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for dessert. 

(better go try one out, and make sure they turned out just right)

Pretty Greengate on a Snowy Spring Day

Hello, happy Tuesday. It is a cold snowy, blowy, blustery kind of day here. I know April is supposed to be a snowy month, but I was sure warmer weather was here for a while. Then today, while getting the kids to their classrooms, some silly person decided to pull the fire alarm, sending us all out into the blustery coldness. I was not impressed. Hopefully the cold will move on through. It has not left much on the ground, but it is definately an indoor day! For now, I am content to enjoy the warmth of the indoors. I need to catch up on laundry anyway.

Outdoor Fun....

Hello, happy Wednesday. Now that the weather has warmed up, boots are being tossed to the back of the closet and sandals dusted off. Snow clothes are being traded in for light jackets. And things are actually greening up outside.  I have been inspired to look for fun Spring/Summer ideas for outside. I love that Pinterest always gives me such great ideas. I cant wait to try this paint idea and I am always in the mood for glowstick fun.

Easter Wrap Up Part 2... How Mountain Girls Hunt for Eggs!

Yay! I finally figured out how to unload my camera. It was pretty much operator error. Oh well, this time I wrote it down. Now I have over 200 pictures to organize. That is why its a good idea to just have one camera. Ha Ha. 

Oh well, here are the rest of the Easter fun pics. Easter egg huntin', Mountain girl style. 

I don't think my girls have ever had an Easter dress or outfit that didn't include pants and or rain or muck boots. But they pull it off quite nicely. They even had an oversized bear of a dog brother help them find the eggs. 

Afterwards, we took our very pampered indoor bunny out for a walk on his leash. He was less than impressed.

Easter Wrap Up... Part one!

In the muffin tins and in the oven for 30 min at 350 degrees. 

 

Then into the sink full of ice water for 10 min to stop cooking...

 

Happy April 1st! Or should I say April fools day. I feel like a fool because I can't seem to figure out how to empty my new camera of all the pics I have taken since Christmas. OOPS. I did it once and have now forgotten how. Time to find the owners manual. So my Easter Wrap up part 2 will have to wait until I can figure it out. So today I am posting about Easter eggs. Me and my girls had a blast Friday dying eggs. We first hard cooked them in the oven. I have seen this on Pinterest quite a bit, but hadn't had the chance to do it. Well, lets just say, its GREAT. I stuck them in the oven and set the timer (30 min at 350), and went about my business. Worked great. 

We then used a glitter dye kit that the girls picked out. Every year I say "next year we will use a simple color kit instead" and every year I let them pick something crazy. Oh well, it's all fun.
