Hydrangeas and Birds...

Good Morning, Happy Friday. I am enjoying my quiet morning. My girls let me sleep in, and now I am enjoying my coffee and watching the birds fight over the bird seed in the feeders. I have so many different ones out there. I really need a book so I can tell the difference's between them. I have to admit, its times like this that I wish my Grandmother's were still alive. They always knew the different breeds of birds.

I am also enjoying my new Hydrangea. I want one of these every year, but I am so afraid I will kill it. I decided I was going to try my very hardest to keep it alive this year.
So pretty.

Have a great day!

More Great Craft Cabinet Ideas...

Happy Snowy Snowy Tuesday. Well, our dried out Spring didn't last long. I think we made up for it yesterday with over a foot of snow. It is pretty, but it can melt super fast thank you very much. Its hard to believe we have been wearing flip flops for the last few weeks, now we are digging the boots back out.

Oh well.

I am ignoring it by pinning some great craft cabinet ideas. Time for a change. And this is just what I have in mind. I have to find a suitable cabinet, but the fun is in the search I think.

Hope your day is great.

Craft Cabinet Dreams...

Dreaming of a craft closet!

ooh, aah, ....

Springtime in the Mountains

This is what I woke up to on this glorious Spring morning. My kids were less than thrilled and trying to explain to them that this is Spring snow and that its good for the flowers and grass, was a useless endeavor.
So I will make the most of it and plan french dip sandwiches for dinner and
pumpkin chocolate chip muffins for dessert.

(better go try one out, and make sure they turned out just right)

Yum.

Have a great day!

Lavender...

Happy Friday. Today is catch up day for me. I have been running all week, hardly getting anything done at home. We still have a busy day of dance and a preschool fundraiser tonight, but I finally feel like I can breathe. So today started with wiping everything down with lavender scented bleach, yum. I feel better already. Now to go catch up on laundry with Lavender scented dryer sheets. (do you see where I am going with this ; )). Then after I am done, I am going to sit down at my sewing machine and make some lavender scented sacheys for drawers and closets and the dryer.

And I will finish off with lavender (or lilac, whichever I have) scented candles and wax.
Ahhhh.... Now I feel relaxed and ready for the weekend.

Wish I had some lavender fields to run through right now.

Hope your day is great!

Pretty Greengate on a Snowy Spring Day

Hello, happy Tuesday. It is a cold snowy, blowy, blustery kind of day here. I know April is supposed to be a snowy month, but I was sure warmer weather was here for a while. Then today, while getting the kids to their classrooms, some silly person decided to pull the fire alarm, sending us all out into the blustery coldness. I was not impressed. Hopefully the cold will move on through. It has not left much on the ground, but it is definately an indoor day! For now, I am content to enjoy the warmth of the indoors. I need to catch up on laundry anyway.

Have a wonderful day!

Outdoor Fun....

Hello, happy Wednesday. Now that the weather has warmed up, boots are being tossed to the back of the closet and sandals dusted off. Snow clothes are being traded in for light jackets. And things are actually greening up outside.  I have been inspired to look for fun Spring/Summer ideas for outside. I love that Pinterest always gives me such great ideas. I cant wait to try this paint idea and I am always in the mood for glowstick fun.

Hope your day is just as sunny and bright.

Easter Wrap Up Part 2... How Mountain Girls Hunt for Eggs!

Yay! I finally figured out how to unload my camera. It was pretty much operator error. Oh well, this time I wrote it down. Now I have over 200 pictures to organize. That is why its a good idea to just have one camera. Ha Ha.

Oh well, here are the rest of the Easter fun pics. Easter egg huntin', Mountain girl style.

I don't think my girls have ever had an Easter dress or outfit that didn't include pants and or rain or muck boots. But they pull it off quite nicely. They even had an oversized bear of a dog brother help them find the eggs.

Afterwards, we took our very pampered indoor bunny out for a walk on his leash. He was less than impressed.

Hope you have a great Tuesday. Its Spring Picture day for us at school.

Smile

Easter Wrap Up... Part one!

In the muffin tins and in the oven for 30 min at 350 degrees.

Then into the sink full of ice water for 10 min to stop cooking...

Happy April 1st! Or should I say April fools day. I feel like a fool because I can't seem to figure out how to empty my new camera of all the pics I have taken since Christmas. OOPS. I did it once and have now forgotten how. Time to find the owners manual. So my Easter Wrap up part 2 will have to wait until I can figure it out. So today I am posting about Easter eggs. Me and my girls had a blast Friday dying eggs. We first hard cooked them in the oven. I have seen this on Pinterest quite a bit, but hadn't had the chance to do it. Well, lets just say, its GREAT. I stuck them in the oven and set the timer (30 min at 350), and went about my business. Worked great.

We then used a glitter dye kit that the girls picked out. Every year I say "next year we will use a simple color kit instead" and every year I let them pick something crazy. Oh well, it's all fun.

Hope your day is full of sunshine and warmth, and less foolin.
