Last Minute Crafting...

Hello. Happy Friday. Today I am in time crunch mode. I am trying to do some last minute paper crafting for the craft fair tomorrow. The girls and I made some of these fun cones. I have small ornament ones and larger ones for inside mattress springs. Fun. I don't know if anyone will "get it" but I think they are fun. I am working on some banners now, but then I will be done. Yay. So far my Jewelry has been a huge hit and I have presold quite a few. Hope I have enough for tomorrow.

Have a great day!!!

Early Christmas Present

Hello. Happy Monday. I am taking a cleaning and decorating break and wanted to post about my fun surprise this weekend. My hubby surprised me with an early Christmas present. We were watching TV this weekend and I was flipping channels. I stopped momentarily on QVC and saw this. My Father in law just bought one and has been telling me how great it is and I mentioned to hubby that this would be a great thing to have. Well I guess the price was right because he called them up and ordered it for me. IT should be here in a few days. I am so excited. I never used to think these were all that great, until I recently learned you can use your own coffe with the "my k cup". So great!!!. The other great thing about ordering it on TV is that it comes with 64 little cups to start out with. I am sooo excited and I cant wait to get it.

Hope your day is wonderful. I am off to do more decorating.

White as Snow...

Happy Sunday. Just  a quick post before the hustle today. Now that Thanksgiving is over, and for the most part, Christmas shopping is done... yes I said done. : )
I feel like I can start getting into my decorating. However, my kiddos are doing everything possible to wreck the house. So decorating may wait until they are in school tomorrow. I think I will take today to finish up my Craft Fair preparations... (it is next Saturday...eek!!!).
I need to take some time to think about my decor. Every year I vow to simplify, and then every year I go crazy. Deck every hall and adorn every surface.
So a day of contemplation may be a good idea.

Right now I am loving everything white and wishing for snow. A white Christmas is right on top of my list this year.

Hope your day is great!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

New Obsession... Photo Books

I have a new obsession. Yesterday, while black friday shopping. I wandered into Oshkosh. (no, buying clothes for my kids is not a new obsession. I have always had that one). When I checked out, the cashier gave me a gift from Oshkosh. It was a free 8x8 photo book from Shutterfly. Now at the time I really didnt pay much attention, grabbed my bag and headed out. When I got home I unpacked everything, put stuff away, messed around, and finally I unloaded the pants I bought the girls. I grabbed the random receipts and coupons and placed them into a pile and then finally looked at the little Shutterfly card. WOW! It was then after reading it that I realized this was a $30.00 value. I couldn't believe it.

Now this is where the obsession comes in. I went onto their site and after uploading my pics, I picked a template and clicked on insert pictures and it did it all for me. All I had to do was enter my captions, quotes and place embelishments and order. I LOVED IT.

I have always been an old fashioned scrapbooker. But now. I have a wonderful 20 page book of our Fall pictures which are by far my favorite.

I figured out the cost. And if you purchase a book when they are 50% OFF like they are now, then it is cheaper than buying all the products and ordering the pictures for an old style book.

Something to think about.

So for now, I will be building books in my saved projects and when the price is right I will order them. Sometime technology can be pretty great.

Hope your Saturday is great!

Black Friday...

Happy Black Friday! Or as I like to say Christmas Kick Off Day!!!

We are off to immerse ourselves in the insanity. Then later today I am definately making these. Yum.

Hope your Turkey Day was great. Have a great weekend.

: )

Cranberry Turkey Sandwich

Croissant or bread of choice
Whole berry canned cranberry sauce, usually stocked year-round
Freshly sliced roasted turkey lunchmeat, ( or leftover turkey) from the deli section
Baby spinach
Cream cheese

Slice croissant, spread a layer of cream cheese on the bottom half, followed by a layer of baby spinach. Pile on turkey, followed by a generous amount of cranberry sauce.

Can be tightly wrapped in plastic wrap and served the next day.

Keep this sandwich in mind for the day after thanksgiving. It is absolutely delicious with leftover turkey and homemade cranberry sauce.

Crepes, Crepes, Crepes.... YUM!!!!!

Happy Wednesday!!! I am feeling very Thankfull Today. My great friend taught me how to make crepes last Friday and I have to say this is my new favorite thing. I made apple crepes this morning for my girls (my friend taught me how to make the applesauce as well, how lucky am I), and they loved it. I have to admit the first one flopped and became a dog treat, (he he he).
Thank you friend. We love you guys so much. Hope you have a great holiday!!!

Today I am baking pies and getting stuff cleaned up around the house.

Hope your day is great!!!!

(Pictures are from Pinterest. We ate ours faster than I could photograph them, Thanks Pinterest!)

Decking the Halls with Candles...

I love candles. Especially this time of year when the house is all closed up. Any fire flickering whether it is from a candle or from the wood stove just warms my heart. I was at a good friends house the other day and she had wonderful jars of water, pine boughs, cranberries and tealights floating in them. I LOVED it. It really inspired me to think outside my candle-box. Here are some great ideas for candles.

Have a great day!

Sunday Mornings....

Good Morning. Hope your day has started great. I am catching up. I feel like all I do is run run run and I never catch up. But today I have great intentions. November is almost over. Craft fair planning is in full swing, as well as Christmas shopping. My girls are in full holiday readiness, wanting to decorate. I keep telling them we have to get through Thanksgiving first, but I have to admit, I am already pining for Christmas music and decking the halls. I have the decorations on standby and am anxious to get to it. However, I will be patient. This week will be another busy one and I will be sure to clean clean clean so that I have a fresh slate when I am ready to start.  I hope you have a wonderful week.

Time to Breathe....

Halloween is over, November is here. We have another daylight savings time set back behind us. Now time for shorter days. I feel like I can finally breathe. My life is no less hectic, but I always feel like November is my calm before the storm. My time to calm down, settle into the season.  We are still busy with school stuff, 4H stuff, Craft fairs and everyday life, but still, things feel calmer. Today is a day for laundry and catching up on my crochet project. A scarf. I will post later. Until then, enjoy this yummy recipe I am going to attempt today.

Have a great day!

Pull-Apart Cinnamon Sugar Pumpkin Bread with Buttered Rum Glaze
(Adapted from Willow Bird Baking)
Ingredients
Bread
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 cup milk
2 1/4 teaspoons (1 envelope) active dry yeast
3/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp fresh ground nutmeg
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
Buttered Rum Glaze
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/8 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp milk
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp rum *
*The recipe I used called for just a 1/4 tsp of rum but I really wanted to be able to taste the rum, so I upped it to a full tablespoon. It was just right for my taste, adding a nice warmth to the glaze. If you’re not into rum you can sub a teaspoon of vanilla extract.

~ Apples, Apples, Apples ~

I love apples. My mom brought these up during her last visit.  I was so excited. So my good friend and I got together a few weeks ago and cut, peeled, sliced, cooked and then froze a case of apples. Now today, I am going to de-halloween my house and cook up some yummy apple sauce that she taught me. Ahhh, cant wait to smell the yumminess.

Have a great day!
