~ Dreaming of Pie ~

I have mixed two candle scents and the are amazing together. Pumpkin Pie and Blueberry cobbler. Believe it or not the two smell great burning at the same time and it makes me want to bake some to eat. Yummy!

Planting Geraniums...

Yesterday was a wonderful cool day. It was overcast and rainy and I must be in the mood for Autumn because it was inspiring me to do a few things around the house. One of them was to replant my Geraniums into these sweet tins. Eventually I will decoupage the outside of the tins, but for now I am enjoying the coffee and cookies designs. ~ Ikea ~

Today is the Grand Opening of Ikea in Denver. We are so excited... when I say we, I mean me, my mom and a good friend. My husband isn't as thrilled. I can't imaging why.  I wish I could be one of those people waiting in line. I guess the first 38 get a couch... so cool. And then the next 62 get an arm chair. We are too far away to camp out for 3 days, but we will be making our visit in the next week or two. I can't wait!

~ Greengate... Christmas in July ~

I am loving the new Greengate catalog at their website.

It is their Winter 2011 catalog and there are some really pretty things in it. I wish I could buy their products here, but this is another one of those hard to get companies. Hopefully the will come to the USA soon. 

I can only hope.

~ Thinking About Back to School ~

Today we received a great catalog in the mail, one of my favorite companies, Garnet Hill. I love their clothes and home furnishings. I especially love the way they layer the kids outfits. My daughter has picked out a few great outfits from this catalog and I have to admit it seeing this one has me thinking about back to school. We are about a month away and in no hurry, but back to school shopping is one of my favorite things to do. Have a great day... we will be doing lots of swimming today.

Such a Lucky Girl....

I am so lucky. I have a wonderful friend who brought me a belated birthday gift from Norway. I love it. She brought me lots of Tilda fabric, paper, stickers and ribbon. She even wrapped it in Tilda wrapping paper (which I carefully unrapped and am saving for a project). Thank you friend, you are amazing!

Today I have thrown myself into cleaning and organizing. I can overlook only so much, but when I want to do something and cant see anything other that clutter, I go a little crazy. So enjoy this sweet pic we took at the lake about a month ago. I am going to go clean.

~ More Peonies ~

 I wish I could say these beauties came from my own Peony plant, but no. They are from My husbands Grandmothers house. Normally I would enjoy them on the bush, but they were either broken or laying in the dirt. Had to rescue them. 

 Beautiful Tablescape with my favorite flower and fun new fabric...

 We live in a pretty small town and all our shopping is usually done in a neighboring county that has larger stores like Walmart and Target. However this weekend I discovered a new store... Tuesday Morning. Have you been? It was wonderful. I found many new things that I probably did not need but I couldn't help myself. I love these flip top bottles. Wonderful. 

I find it so crazy how change just puts itself in your path. Just when you think things are going good and normal and nothing eventful is happening.... boom, something changes. It is so ironic how you can be so sure of one thing and by the next day it is different. I guess thats what keeps life interesting.

New Tilda Fabric....

I am so excited about the sweet Tilda Fabric that I received in the mail over the weekend. I ordered it off of Ebay from Europe and it is perfect. I purchased 4 pieces and cant wait to use them for something. I think I may order some more, the transaction was perfect and actually pretty quick. I also bought these super cute enamel cups at a local sporting goods store that was going out of business. So cute and perfect for summer and fall.

A Beautiful Hike... On a Gorgeous Morning

Everytime we go on a hike in our mountains, I am reminded of how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place. Yes Winter is too long and the Mosquitos are likely to carry you off in the Summer, but what a wonderful place. I wish you could see the vibrancy of the wildflowers, they were amazing. And the butterflies were everywhere. 

Wow.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake... Yum!

 My pineapple upside down cake turned out great. I just put about 3 tbsp of butter around the bottom of the pan, sprinkled about a cup of brown sugar, layed fresh pineapple rings around, and then put this pineapple supreme cake on top, and baked as directed. 

Perfect!

Hello. Hope everyone's Independence Day Celebrations were wonderful. We had a great day. We started out with a mountain hike (pics to come later), swimming in our pool... (which actually warmed up), a wonderful dinner of Hamburgers, hotdogs, macaroni salad, and followed by Pineapple upside down cake... so good. 

Then we headed outside for some firework fun for the kids before watching the magnificent display in our town. The weather was hot and wonderful until the afternoon when the thunderstorms cooled things off just right and the breeze kept the mosquitos away (somewhat). It was a perfect day. Welcome July!
