Goodbye November

I love these elves... or pixies? Where can you get them though? I have looked everywhere?

Hello... Sorry I have been absent lately. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was eventfull. First of all the Stomach Flu visited our house the weekend before and wiped my oldest daughter as well as myself out for most of the week. We both recovered in time for Turkey Day but it put me behind on everything. Finally after some insane black friday shopping... I have been doing some decorating. We have started with a little here and there, but this next week will be the big holiday baking- Christmas tree decorating- Present wrapping- extravaganza... whew! I am tired just thinking about it. Enjoy some Christmas Images... Have a great last day of November!

Thanksgiving and Christmas

I love the strips of burlap that are just laying in the wooden dough bowl... simply lovely...

Here is a closer look at my Ornaments. I love these colors. These are from a multi colored box of ornaments that I purchased last year after Christmas. The Turquoise and Pink went to my daughters trees already in their rooms and these earthy colors are mine. Love them with the blue. Also, my Pumpkin Pie candle goes great with them as well...

Snow Day Project

Old brown mirror from a garage sale last Summer...

Lovely Blue paint... I love these little paint pods for small projects...

Just enough paint to look worn and distressed... and quick too!

Finished!
I love this project. I am soo anxious to decorate for Christmas, and I think when I do, this mirror will look wonderful with a tree in front of it with beautiful antique ornaments. For now, my geranium gets the honor. I couldnt avoid some Christmas though, some green and orange ornaments fit the color for Thanksgiving... for now.

"Oh the weather outside is frightfull...." you know how the song goes. It is snowing and blowing and the desire to decorate for Christmas is insane. Thanksgiving is a few days away and to me its the end of Fall. I know the official day isnt until December, but for me, Black Friday always kicks off the Christmas Season. I cant wait...

A Crazy Day

Fun new Christmas magazine... sorry for the flash in the picture...

A Fun Snowman and Snowflake and other great seasonal stuff throw and my favorite (for now) pillows...

My pillows on my bed with a favorite returning red faux fur throw from pier 1 like 5 years ago...

I love where we live. And usually the weather doesnt bother me. We are surrounded by mountains and mountain passes. This can be a problem if it snows badly enough to close any or all of the passes. Usually we are on this side of those closures and warm and cozy in our home. Yesterday, we had to go to the big city... on the other side of the mountains... and a huge fast storm swept through and we found ourselves on the wrong side of the mountain. Needless to say we were stuck. After 9 hours of waiting, and driving, and waiting some more, we finnally made it home. It was really interesting to see first hand how our state responds to such an event, and even though I was very annoyed at being delayed, I think they did a great job and from what I know, no one was injured or hurt in any accidents. But now, after seeing about 3 feet of snow during our drive... (only like 2-3 inches here)... I wanted to show some of my favorite winter decorations. I am LOVING red and blue right now... so more of that. Hope you have a great day!!!

Cold and Cozy Weekend

Yesterday was a cold and cloudy day... it was great for playing games, watching videos, (getting laundry done... yuk) and making cookies. I had a great time hanging out with my girls while it was cold out. Then last night we got a dusting of snow. Unfortunatly its not enough to play in... but maybe more today! Have a great weekend.

Learning Something New

A few years ago, I bought a book and taught myself how to knit. I was pretty proud of it, even if I only knew one stitch, it was still pretty cool. However, I just found out about a week ago, that the style of knitting I was doing, was "American Style" and that there was also "English Style". So my good friend enlightened me to that way and I am amazed how much easier and faster it is. I am so annoyed that I didnt know this sooner. Anyways, thanks to her, I love knitting now and am on the lookout for more yarn.... much to the dismay of my Husband...
Have a great day, I am organizing and discovering so many treasures that I forgot about... busy weekend of cleaning up and hopefully a little scrapbooking...
See ya Monday!

So Fluffy....

Now that I have started breaking out my "warm" blankets and covers, I am so excited to show you a sheepskin that my husband bought a few weeks ago. It took alot of washing, and it still needs more brushing, but it is so fluffy and soft. I love having it hang over the couch. And it falls into my white and red theme perfectly. I was really surprised when he came home with it, but its pretty cool... good job honey!

Touches of Red and White

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was going to work on new pillows and curtains for my room, and I finally started on that. I still want to sew curtain panels to go with the valance and add another pillow, but I am loving how it looks. I realize its not even Thanksgiving yet, but I have started infusing my home with winter whites and reds... I just cant help it. Dont worry I will give Turkey Day its fair share of decorating but I am anxious for the warmth of Winter decorating...
