~ Fun with burlap ~

I love burlap. It is such a cool texture to work with. Today we are getting together with friends and making hair bows. While I was gathering my stuff, I found some burlap that I cut into strips. I am determined to incorporate a piece or two. So sweet. Love these burlap ideas as well. Have a great day!

~ Fun at the Fair ~

Last weekend we had so much fun at the fair. We saw cows, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, bunnies, and lots of friends that we only see a few times a year. Plus my big girl won 1st place and Reserve grand champion for one of her pics, and 2nd for the other. She also won a participation ribbon for her 4-h poster. It was a wonderful day!

Cookies and a new Tilda Table Runner...

Today I felt like baking. I tried a new recipe and the cookies taste great but kinda came out flat. Oh well, they still taste good. My new table runner made from Tilda fabric from my good friend looks fabulous though. I love it. Hope your day is great!

Bev Doolittle

I love Bev Doolittle. Shortly after I got married, 17 years ago, my husbands Aunt introduced me to this wonderful artist. My first print was a gift from my husband for our 1 year anniversary, and I have been hooked ever since. My style changes constantly in my home, but somehow I always manage to incorporate these prints. I love them. The ones above are 3 that I have always wanted. Maybe someday. Web Browsing...

Happy Sunday! I was just browsing the web, taking a break from slipcover washing and cleaning, and I thought I would post some great pics that I found. I love something about each of these and am really craving organization right now. The old saying " a place for everything and everything in its place" keeps coming to mind. But for now, just dusting and cleaning and washing will take up my day. Have a great weekend.

Back to School Supplies and a Crazy Trip to Ikea...

 I love it, my big girl is really into rainbows, unicorns and zebras right now. I am just glad she is still being 7 and not into all the pre-tween stuff. 

Yesterday we headed out to dentist appointments and since my husband was off, I wanted to get school supplies out of the way as well. Somehow I convinced him to head to the new Ikea store. I have no idea how I did it, but we went. OMG! The store was amazing, but very crowded, as you can probably imagine since it has only been open 1 week. Normally I would not attempt a visit this soon, but I couldn't help myself. The food was wonderful and their were many items I would love to buy in the future, when I can look without being bumped into or "mommed" every 5 minutes. 

Either way It was great!

A few weeks ago I purchased these wonderful covered boxes at the Tuesday Morning store. They are perfect for photos and other crafty treasures. In fact one of them is holding my coveted collection of Tilda stuff. I love it. I also found a Christmas one, but you will have to wait until then to see it. ; )

Today we are heading over to enter some drawings in the county fair. My Big girl drew these wonderful horses with oil crayons and I matted them. I love the brown horse the best and have every intention of framing after the fair. Good luck big girl.

Amish Friendship Bread... Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins...

Yesterday was baking day. I was baking and splitting up a starter that was given to me and I made these yummy muffins. Love them. You just use the normal recipe, but you add chocolate chips, 1/2 cup more milk and use chocolate pudding instead of vanilla. Yummy!

So good. My kids love them.

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Today I am baking. A friend gave me a Amish Friendship bread starter about two weeks ago and after the required 10 days I made chocolate chocolate chip muffins. They were wonderful. So today I am about to bake from one of my starters. So excited. I have to say I am sorry that I didn't accept one of these sooner. Very good. As for the pics, they are not mine, but I loved the mason jar with gingham ribbon. I will be sure to post my finished muffins. Until then, have a great day!
