Hair Feathers

A good friend recently introduced me to this new trend. Feather hair extensions. They are so cool. And not permanent like hair color. I love it. My oldest daughter and I each got one yesterday. Hers is turquoise and mine is a really pretty copper color.  I think I would like to add a bright color like pink or purple when they get some more. This is a great summer fun idea. ~ Fun Teacher Gift Ideas ~

School is out for us in 2 days and as I am finishing up my Teacher Thank you gifts, I am also enjoying some of the super cute ideas on the web. I am loving the aqua in all of these ideas. Its my favorite summer color along with hot pink (currently on my toes).

Ruffles and Sunshine

Finally the sunshine is coming out. We are windy, but at least its with blue sky rather than clouds. We have had wind rain and snow for the last 4 days, I am so ready for warmth again. At the moment I am anxious to get the rest of the school year wrapped up, painting projects started, garage sales planned and vacations taken. Its going to be a busy June.

Warm and Wonderful Weekend...

Ahhhh.... finally a chance to post. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Ours was beautiful. It was full of sunshine, playing outside and great entertainment. We spent most of our weekend outside, playing and eating. We also had two recitals to go to and lots of dressing up. Everything went great. Then Monday was field day at school and doctors appointments yesterday... whew... all done. Finally time to clean up the house after all the craziness. Hope everyones Wednesday is going good. The sun is finally coming out after a few days of clouds and rain. Going to be a good day.

~ Rehearsal Day ~

This post was already scheduled and then something happened. So here it goes...

Today was dress rehearsal for dance class and...  whew now its done and we are ready for the recital!

All the little girls and boys looked so cute... I can't wait!

~ Pirate Fun ~

Last night was our Pirate play. I think all the kids looked and sounded great. On to the next performance...

~ Riding Lessons ~

Happy Wednesday May 11th, the birds are singing, the grass is turning green, the snow is falling.... what! Yep... we have rain and snow again. I am really glad for the moisture but come on... anyways, we have a pretty busy week ahead of us. Tonight is my oldest daughters spring program at school, they are Pirates. Then tomorrow is horseback riding lessons, she is doing so good. Then Friday is dress rehearsal for her Dance Recital and then Saturday and Sunday are the Recital days.... whew!

Then next week we start all over with another busy week. But school is almost out an Summer will be here... and we will still have snow... ugh!

~ Geese ~

Happy Monday! Hope everyone's Mother's Day weekend was great! Ours was wonderful. Good weather, broke out the kiddie pool, played in the yard, went for a mountain drive, saw some wildlife and went shopping. One of the places that we "shopped" was a farm and ranch supply store in a neighboring county. I fell in love with baby geese. They were sold, but they got my husband and I thinking maybe geese would be a good addition to out backyard. Sooo, we are considering a pair of loud honking sweet feathery friends. I am now doing my research since I am not good about just jumping in, so stay tuned...

Old and Rustic, Sweet and lacy....

Lately I have been thinking how great it would be to buy a house on a few acres with an old barn to explore and turn into a fun space. I think this is because of my current love of all things rustic and rusty and old. I just got a few fun old items at a garage sale today and am so excited to turn them into something great... stay tuned. Until then... enjoy these fun pics and Happy Mothers Day weekend.

A while back I discovered Mary Jane's Farm and Mary Jane's Outpost. Great books and a great magazine. 

Recently I have been very interested in anything old and rustic. Rusty metal and worn wood. I am going to start a potting shed/ greenhouse this summer and already have the look of it going in my head. Lots of metal and wood and chippy painted objects.... I cant wait. ~ All Better ~

Sorry about yesterday, I must have had a momentary lapse of happiness. I am all better now. I really think being sick on a warm sunny day depressed me more than anything. I am truly happy about these lovely pictures of Tilda Tins. These are on my list of wants. Unfortunately not available in the USA yet, but I am keeping my hopes up. Hope you are having nicer weather than us... snow/rain... yuk!

Having a bad day...

I am generally a happy person. Most of the time, even though I may do some complaining, I am pretty positive and upbeat. However today, I am not too happy, pretty blue actually. I am sick (stupid spring head cold), my youngest seems to be stalling in the potty training department, its sunny and warm outside but tomorrow its supposed to snow and my best friend may be moving away. I just cant help but be bummed out today. Oh well... enough of that. Hope you are all having a better day. I am sure tomorrow will be better (other than the snow that is).

Bike Riding

Our "Spring" weather is still hit or miss around here. But the girls are getting as much bike riding in as possible. My oldest is determined to get rid of her training wheels and the little one is just happy to be riding along. Hope your having nice weather.

Spring Fever....

I think people seriously under estimate the power of Spring Fever. It causes desire to shop, desire to clean, the need to eliminate clutter, the need to change curtains, slipcovers, rugs, towels, etc... and it makes some of us want to change homes altogether. I have been wanting to move elsewhere for some time now. However in this economy, there hasn't been much change in that department. When you drive through our town, just about 3/4's of it are for sale. It is a sad sign of the times. People just aren't moving in and they are moving out at an alarming rate. Still, I hold out hope for tomorrow, and the next day, that someone will see our house and know that it is just what they want. Until then, I will keep changing curtains, rugs and slipcovers and dream of future possibilities.
