Christmas Cards...

Hello, Happy Wednesday!

Today I am working on punching out trees from all my scrap paper.
I decided I am going to make Christmas cards this year.
I have thought of doing this before, but never really followed through.
But there are soo many great ideas on www.pinterest.com
so I am going for it.
Here are some great ideas.
I will be sure to post my progress...
ha ha.
Cards have never been my strong suit.
Have a great day!

Crockpot Love...

Hello!
Happy Tuesday...

We have a busy week. Cheer practice is in full swing for both of my girls. Baby sister is doing a week long cheer camp with the Highschool Cheerleaders.
She will be performing on Friday night. She is super excited.

So that means hanging out after school. All week long. Ugh.
Bring on the crock pot.
Check out this great recipe I am definately trying this week.
YUM

SLOW COOKER CHEESY BACON RANCH POTATOES
Prep Time15 minutes
Cook Time8 hours, 15 minutes
Total Time8 hours, 30 minutes
Yield8 servings
The easiest potatoes you can make right in the crockpot - perfectly tender, flavorful and cheesy!
INGREDIENTS
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 3 pounds red potatoes, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Ranch Seasoning and Salad Dressing Mix
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives
INSTRUCTIONS
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Spread bacon in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet. Place into oven and bake until brown and crispy, about 12-14 minutes. Let cool before crumbling; set aside.
  • Line a slow cooker with aluminum foil, leaving enough to overhang to wrap the potatoes on top, and coat with nonstick spray. Place a layer of potatoes evenly into the slow cooker. Top with cheese, Ranch Seasoning and bacon, repeating 2 more times and reserving 1/2 cup cheese.
  • Cover potatoes with aluminum foil and cook on low heat for 7-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Cover and cook until melted, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with chives.

Happy Little Crochet Pumpkins....

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!
Today I am not sure how I feel. I am Happy and content. The sun is shining but there is a definite feel of Fall in the air. There is a cool breeze coming through the Windows and I have my pumpkin candles burning. For the most part I am very happy.
But there is the small uneasy worrisome mom in me too. My oldest daughter left today on her first overnight field trip with her 6th grade class. 3 days of camping (in cabins), campfires, canoeing, and zip lining. I know she is going to have an amazing time. At the same time Mama is having stress. But I know she's in great hands, so I can relax. Easier said than done. So I will throw myself into house cleaning, baking and crafting. Ha ha.

And on that note, check out my crochet pumpkins. Now I am no crochet expert. And I know there is no way I can explain my process in any way that makes sense. But basically I chain crocheted 6 stitches, looped back into the first to make a circle, then double crocheted around in a spiral until my shape started. About 3-4 rows depending on how big you want t it.

Then I double stitched twice into each hole for about two rows to give it a curve. Then I started skipping hole, this started closing it off gradually. Once you have a small hole in the top, but still big enough to stuff. Fill with stuffing and finish closing it off.

After tying it off, I flipped it over, went outside, found some sticks, and,
Tah-dah!!!

Happy little crochet pumpkins!
Have an awesome day!!!

Fall Shopping...Fall Food...Pumpkins...

This weekend was so great. It was full of  Fall color, Food harvesting and clean up.
My mom and the girls and I went to Wal-Mart for mums and fall wreaths.
Then after coming home and setting them all out,
I got to work processing and putting up wonderful veggies from our neighbors.
Yummy!!!

And then more fall decor....

What a wonderful Saturday!!!!
Sunday and Monday consisted of yard clean up, pool de-construction, and car sanding and painting...
Yes... car painting. My husband's car was in desperate need. Ha ha. My dad is awesome at it and it only took one day.
Phew!!!!

I am glad we are back to a normal school week.
Have a great day!!!!

Blue Pumpkins

Hello, hello!
Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday was very busy. Volunteering at school all day is rewarding and yet somewhat tiring. Today's volunteering is much shorter... yay!

Then I can catch up on household stuff.

Today's post is about the fun little project I did a week ago. I found these fun little plastic pumpkins at Wal-Mart for .98¢ and I bought some nice blue paints for around .50¢ each. Then just painted them up, leaving some streaks so that they look chalky.

I am super happy with the results.
 Have a great day!!!
