New... Old... Medicine Cabinet

My Husband found this old medicine cabinet at a yard sale and brought it home. I think it is wonderful. I couldnt decide if I should paint it or not, it is still something to be decided, but it is very rustic and goes great in our Horse Inspired bathroom. I stapled a piece of fabric in the window area and hope to replace it with a piece of glass later, but for now Its perfect.
Things have finally returned to normal. We have hardly been home this week, so now I am cleaning up our "Piles" that have been scattered about in our brief returns to home. Have a great day. :)

Sweet Treats and a Hectic Week

We have a new restauraunt in town and they have the best baked goodies... yum...
This week has been crazy! It started with back to school then we had some family issues which has resulted in insurance investigators and crime scene tape and I have hardly been home. Now we have family coming in from everywhere. Rest assured no one was hurt, but we have alot of cleanup ahead. So I may not be posting much this week. I will be sure to see you all next week. Have a great one!!!

New Shoes

I was so excited this weekend to find these really cute shoes at a garage sale. I love them. They are Hanna Andersson, which you hardly ever find at yard sales, and they almost fit my toddler. However, My husband doesnt like them. He thinks the heels are too high and doesnt want our kids wearing "heels". Since he is pretty great the rest of the time, I guess I will let him have his way this time :)

So I had to get a cute picture of her wearing these before I sell them. So cute.
Have a great day.

First Day Of School

Sugar Scrubs... One exfoliating with Rosemary Mint from Aveda and the other is moisturizing with Olive oil and vanilla...

Check out these great Herb hooks I found at TJ Maxx (such a great store) and thanks to an idea from a friend, a great place to hang my vintage aprons.. Love it.

Today was my oldest daughters first day of first grade. She was very excited and so was I until I got home and realized that I actually had some time to do things. Granted I still have an almost 2 year old to entertain and chase, however, during nap time, I actually got some projects done. I caught up on laundry, did some cleaning, and whipped up these wonderful body scrubs that I got from (shabbychicinthemountains.blogspot.com.) I love them and two are gifts for my Mom and Dad who we will be visiting on Labor day weekend. Cant wait. Tomorrow will be another day of possibility. Time to get stuff done... instead of missing my 6 year old horribly.

Exhausting but great...

I am exhausted.
We had a great weekend! It started with a trip to a kids fair Saturday Morning. The girls got to touch every imaginable service vehicle available as well as sit in them, honk horns and ride in their buckets... lots of fun. Then Saturday afternoon we headed out to a friends property to play in his creek. There was a sandy bottom, lots of fish and a beaver pond, soo cool. After lots of water fun, we then went up the road from there into the mountains and picked wild raspberries... which we had with pancakes this morning. I wanted to take a picture of the pancakes but they were gobbled up so fast, I didnt have time.
Then after breakfast, we headed out with our fun Peddle Boat and My husband and I and the girls headed accross the lake with out cooler and our boat and enjoyed a very quiet morning on the lake, (not much going on since fall is near) and a picnic as well as some crawdad catching and splashing around.
Now we are home, tired, sunburned (my husband and I, I remembered to lotion up the girls) and happy... ready to start the week. School starts tomorrow and I think my daughter is ready for 1st grade. I know I am... Have a great night...

What I Did Today...

My husband found me all these pretty wooden spools of thread at a yardsale and I put them in this pretty jar (I think it may have had pretzels in it... its definatly not old). I decorated with my favorite paper (Tilda) and put ribbons on it. I also decorated a little tin just because... Love it.
I also uncovered my treadmill (need to start that again, now that school is starting I will have more time)...
And I am trying hard to work on stuff I can sell on Ebay and Etsy... I am looking forward to starting an Etsy store so stay tuned for details....

In the Mail

My Cath Kidston Catalog came... Finally. I think it is the Fall issue. I requested it about 2 months ago and yeah!!! Its finally here....

Now for coffee and peace to look at it and dream...

Have a great day....

My Exciting Find in my new Favorite Color....

I was going to save this guy for tomorrow, but I just couldnt wait. I love this color and paid $5 for it. I dont know if it works, but I really dont care. My Father in Law says its all here so maybe it does work. I just think it looks perfect here.

Morning Beauty

These are two of my newest Geranium seedlings. The color on them is a vibrant pink. I love it. The leaves are yellowing though. I dont know if its from the cold or if my kids are watering too much, they really love to help...

These are older but just as beautiful...

This beauty greeted me as I retrieved the Sunday Paper. They are growing wild along the street out in front of my house... Lovely

Canning Greenbeans

When I went grocery shopping on Friday I was happy to find that the canning jars were on sale and I decided to stock up. Then yesterday, at another store I found the Locally grown Green beans for 88 cents a pound and thought what a great staple to can for winter. Fresh Beans. This was so easy. I just boiled some salty water (I added a few of our favorite spices as well) and poured over washed and cut beans. Perfect and probably the easiest of my canning endeavors. Next... Salsa.. Yum. Cant wait.

Picnic By the River

The girls and I headed out this morning for a nice picnic by the river and then headed to a nearby lake for a bit of splashing. We had a great time. However the little one went all the way under the water at the River and while I was trying to retrieve her, my Camera went into the river as well. Hopefully it will dry out completely and still work, or otherwise, I will be shopping for a new one tomorrow. I can not be without one... the horror! It was still a great day and hopefully it will be repeated (somewhat) next week. Have a great day!

I am obsessed with these vintage tins. My father in law gave me these... once again, so generous...

This beauty came from a garage sale for $2.00... I cant wait to clean it up and display it somewhere cute...

This huge spool of Macrame twine is from my father in law also, I think it will be great for crafts, cant wait to use it...

for a friend... she knows who she is...

Faux berries and fruit... just right for Fall, which by the temps this morning (37 degrees), is right around the corner... definatly going to need....

Warm cozy soft socks...
Have a great day...

Three Little Birds...

I love that song... Three Little Birds... And this picture reminded me of it. Unfortunatly the clouds were ready to dump rain on us, but these babies didnt mind, they were just waiting patiently for mom...

County Fair and Other Summer Activities...

Then we spent the next day at the local county fair. The Pigs, Chickens, Turkeys, Cows and Sheep were all very entertaining...
