Summer Picnic Style

My Fun New Cabinet

My husband was less than thrilled this weekend when I decided to buy this super cute cabinet. It was a steal for $5.00.  It is made from old barn wood and I think it must have been a chicken coop or something. I love it. It probably wont stay in the living room, but looks cool holding my blue glass jars. Love it.

~ Pretty Paper ~

I am really loving paper items lately. Especially different patterned cupcake liners and paper napkins. A good friend gave me a package of cupcake liners and napkins from Norway last year for my birthday and it started quite a collection. It is so nice to pretty up a normal occasion like lunch with my girls or a picnic in the backyard with pretty papers. 

On another note, I have been working very hard cleaning and organizing my oldest daughters room. I don't know where everything came from, but I am feeling like I am in an episode of hoarders... but for 7 year olds... ugh!

Oh well, we are clearing it all out now. Hope you all have a great day.

~ Pink Lilacs ~

Ahhhh, I love this time of year. My Pink Lilac is in full bloom, and all my other trees and plants are doing great. Yesterday my darling husband planted a Mountain Ash Tree for me as well as another pink lilac. We also started working on our back yard and cleaned up some more weeds and mowed more grass... (our back yard is pretty extensive). We will be starting on a fence soon, but there are many steps before. It is turning out great.

New Tilda Book - Coming Soon!

The last few days I have found myself daydreaming about the wonderful products from Tone Finnanger. The Tilda products. They are not available in the US, which is no different from anything else I am dreaming about, but I have found a few sellers from over seas that I could buy from. So I am anxiously awaiting some lovely pieces of the above fabrics. I have no idea what I will use them for, but cant wait. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Smile!

Today's my Birthday. I am happy to say that I will be spending it with my girls. My oldest wants to bake my cake, so with my assistance, she will be doing that today. The weather is beautiful and my Husband gave me the best gift ever.... he cleaned up the yard and mowed and weed wacked every possible weed. I am pretty easy to please. ~ Mesa Verde ~

While on our trip, we had the opportunity to visit Mesa Verde National Park. So cool. The girls were amazed how old the ruins were. My oldest and I even got to climb down into a kiva. So cool. Literally, about 10-15 degrees cooler. 

Have a great Saturday, we are off to a local town celebration and parade.

~ Pure Sweetness ~

Pure Sweet Puppies. My Aunts dog had puppies and they were the big hit of the weekend. My big girl loved and named each one. So sad we couldnt bring one home but thats ok, I am sure they will go to good homes.

~ Home ~

We're home. We had a wonderful visit to my parents house and just rolled back in last night. Now I am in cleanup mode. Laundry to do and stuff to put away. I did come back with a much better attitude and more creativity. I am going to start an organizing spree throughout my home. I want everything to have a place. This seems to be a problem with us, especially with toys and linens. Two things we have alot of. Ahhh home sweet home.

My Summer Colors

Hello Wednesday! Hope everyone is enjoying their Spring/Summer. I think ours may finally be here. In 2 days the girls and I are off to my Moms for a visit (hubby cant get the time off, so we are venturing out on our own... ). We will have a great time, but will miss him lots. I am trying to get my house clean and all the laundry done before we leave and am going a little crazy, but its good crazy. In the meantime I really wanted to post some lovely Tilda colors. I am loving these blues and greens for Summer. Enjoy and I will see you in a week.

In Full Bloom

Our Pink Crabapple is in full bloom. It is wonderful. I can smell it as soon as I walk out the door or into the yard. And when you get close enough, you can hear it buzz. This is why there are no close ups ; )

We had a wonderful weekend and a very successful garage sale. Now we can focus on building our backyard fence and working on that part of our yard.

(This guy is great. I purchased him from a good friend. I knew my hubby would love it. It is big, bulky and doesn't go with anything, but we love it.  )

Lush and Overgrown.... But Beautiful

So sorry I haven't been posting. Things have been insane around here. Still are. But I wanted to post a quick hello. We are in the midst of getting ready for a large yardsale and I am going crazy as I usually do. My yard is extremely overgrown... but its green and growing at least. The lilac bushes are budding and getting ready to bloom and I finally planted my plants... hopefully they will not freeze. I hope everyone had a great memorial day weekend.
