The Royal Wedding

Good Morning! I have been up since 6:00 (thanks to my wonderful children) and watching the Royal Wedding. I usually don't get into these things, but I think as I get older, I get more sentimental. : )

I think its is even more appealing now that I have a 7 year old that is thrilled with anything extravagant. She is completely amazed by the Clothing and Hats that the guests are wearing and the decadence of it all. I have to say that the Bride looks so sweet and classic. Not overdone at all. 

I remember watching the last royal wedding, I too was 7 and was watching it with my mom. I think that is more meaningful to me... that I am now doing the same thing, 30 years later. 

You've got to love a fairy tale!

Shades of Blue

 More inspiration from around the house... I have a lot of blue... This is Cath Kidston blue... Lovely...

 My outdoor flags from last year... getting ready to make some more... these are all frayed and faded. 

I decided yesterday that my bedroom walls need to be blue. My local hardware store offers By one get one free cans of paint a few times a year and I think this time I will be buying blue and ofcoarse white. I still need to paint many areas of the house, but I am going to take advantage of the good deal.

Hope this post finds everyone happy and healthy after a great Easter. Ours was wonderful. With the exception of the yukky weather... Easter Egg hunting in 3 inches of snow... no thank you... 

Any ways... I have found it quite difficult these last few days getting on the computer to blog. My 7 and 2 year olds have been needing lots of attention for some reason. I think it must be spring fever.

Coloring Easter Eggs

This last week has been very hectic. I don't feel like I have accomplished much but I know we have been busy. Tuesday Night we decorated Easter Eggs. It was lots of fun. I am a huge fan of the original paas kit. Easy, lots of fun colors and decoration accessories. It was a great success. Have a great Saturday!

My Aunt surprised us with these super cute handmade egg baskets. I was so excited since I had tried this craft and failed misserably. Thankfully I have other crafty family members. Thank you . We LOVE them

Fun New Craft

My good friend has been telling me about decoupage for some time now and I thought I would give it a try. My big girl loved it and had a blast decoupaging horses onto plastic Easter eggs. I chose to cover them completely. Although they didn't turn out as good as I would have liked, I am still pleased with the overall look. They reused strawberry container turned out really great. I love it. Have a great day.

African Violet and Some New Music

My good friend surprised me last week with this beautiful African Violet. So sweet. I hope I can keep it alive, haven't had much luck lately. She also surprised me with a new CD. I don't think this artist has been picked up yet, but I LOVE her sound. I popped the CD in my car and love it. Have I already said I Love it. Well I do. I can't wait to see how far she goes. New Swing Cover

A few days ago when the weather was nice, I decided to get the swing cushion out so we could sit on it. I had two floral curtain panels and they worked great to replace the torn canopy and cover the cushion. It looked great (sorry the pics werent as good, I was having a hard time taking the pictures) and was super comfy.

Busy Day

~ Yesterday ~

 Yesterday the weather was beautiful. No wind, Beautiful blue skies, 70 degrees. The ants were crawling around on the ground and baby girl was taking in the sunshine. Our grass is starting to come up and all is well...

 ... Then this is what we woke up to today. Ugh. I know its spring and that the snow melts fast, but ahhhh. I was really loving the warm weather, I even got a little bit of a sunburn working outside yesterday. I really hope this melts fast.

Greenhouse vs Chicken Coop

When our now 2 year old dog was a puppy, we purchased a large dog kennel for him to hang out in when we were away from home. This never happened. Aside from the children and their friends getting locked in... we have not needed to contain him in this large yard ornament. Sooo my husband and I decided to sell it. Well I thought maybe we could turn it into something else instead of selling it for a fraction of what we paid. The choices are Greenhouse or chicken coop. Now while I would LOVE to have chickens, my all too practical husband thinks that with two small children and a large dog who hasn't yet outgrown puppy-hood, chickens might be a little too much at this time (definatly in the future though). So I think we will be turning it into a greenhouse/ potting shed. I am very excited. I am envisioning plants and pots and lots of great metal containers and watering cans. And I think plants that vine along the chainlink would be lovely... maybe clematis. Hmmm. Have a wonderful day!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

 Nothing better than a jar full of cookies... especially ones I didn't have to bake...

 Probably not the best breakfast... but it doesn't happen very often...

We woke up Sunday morning to cold and a dusting of snow... my husband immediately thought... cookies. I love it when he bakes these. They are his own recipe and they are perfect. I get treated to this luxury about once or twice a year... this time our girls helped him. Soooo good. Diet tomorrow?

Happy Friday! I am sitting at my computer, sipping my coffee and watching my feathered friends eating and listening to their chirping. They aren't even scared of my children tapping on the glass windows and oohing and aahhing about them. Hello my friend... welcome to Spring. New Books

~ New Chair Covers ~

 My Mom surprised me this week with new slipcovers for our 2 recliners. I was shocked. We had talked about how cool these covers were and since we are on a tight budget and can't splurge on new furniture this year, we need to make do with what we have... and they just showed up at the door. I love you, Mom.... 

I also found this Laura Ashley laundry bag for next to nothing online and was sooo excited. I love the colors and thought it made a cool pillow cover. Spring colors I think... hmmmm...

~ Easter Decorations ~

 Happy Monday everyone... Hope your weekend was great. We are back to school today and things are getting back to normal... until Summer break which seems around the corner. For now I am throwing myself into Easter decorating. Now that my Big girls Birthday is behind us. Usually Easter falls right behind her birthday but this year its a whole month after so there is some time to breathe. Have a great Monday and enjoy Spring.
